BEAUFORT: A cooperative society to help support young female entrepreneurs is being started in October by the women’s wing of Parti Bersatu Pribumi Malaysia.
The head of the women’s wing, Rina Mohd Harun, said registration approval for the cooperative, Koperasi Srikandi Jaya Berhad, was being awaited.
“Business is expected to start in October and once operational the cooperative will serve as a medium to help women entrepreneurs promote their brands, products and services,” she told reporters after a meet the people session here today.
Rina, who is also Rural Development Minister, said the ministry also held talks with Malaysia Airports on the possibility of placing the entrepreneurs’ products at six international airports in the country.
She said entrepreneurial development programmes should be enhanced to assist women who are in need of employment.
Earlier, Rina presented house keys to recipients under the Hardcore Poor Housing Programme in Kampung Muhibbah here.
