KUALA LUMPUR: Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan will not be attending the Kuala Lumpur Summit (KL Summit) 2019 from tomorrow to Saturday.

Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s office said in a statement he received a call from Imran yesterday expressing regret for not being able to be present.

“Dr Mahathir appreciates Prime Minister Imran Khan’s call to inform of his inability to attend the summit where the Pakistani leader was expected to speak and share his thoughts on the state of affairs of the Islamic world,” the statement said.

The summit aims to, among other things, discuss and find new and workable solutions to problems facing the Muslim world and contribute towards improving the state of affairs among Muslims and Muslim nations.

It also hopes to form a network of Muslim leaders, intellectuals, scholars and thinkers from around the world, and revive Islamic civilisation.
