Six residents, all Malaysians, have tested positive for Covid-19, according to a ministry posting on Twitter.
The source of the infection is still under investigation.
Health director-general Noor Hisham Abdullah told FMT that the health ministry was still tracing the cases. He said the most recent cases were linked to the tahfiz school clusters, and the situation was still “under control”.
Six clusters of infections have been uncovered at tahfiz schools, of which four were related to a major outbreak at a mass gathering of about 15,000 people at a tabligh assembly at Sri Petaling mosque in February.
More than 7,800 people have been infected with Covid-19 so far, with 115 deaths. However, no deaths have been reported for a week. Thirty-eight new cases were reported today, of which 26 were imported cases and 12 were local transmissions. The local cases comprised six Malaysians and six foreigners.
