Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister Mohd Khairuddin Aman Razali has come under fire for breaching the 14-day Covid-19 quarantine period after returning from a trip to Turkey.
Khairuddin has been penalised with a RM1,000 compound for breaching health and safety protocols. He has apologised for the offence and pledged to donate four months’ salary to the government’s Covid-19 relief fund.
Inspector-General of Police Abdul Hamid Bador has confirmed that Bukit Aman has opened an investigation paper on the matter.
Ismail also said an announcement on the ongoing recovery movement control order, which is supposed to end on Aug 31, could be expected sometime this week.
“We will wait for the prime minister to announce,” he said.
