KOTA KINABALU:
The Sabah election begins today with nominations, scheduled for an hour from 9am without any objection period.

There are 73 nomination centres, including community halls and schools.

Candidates will contest in 73 state seats, including 13 new ones, during polling day on Sept 26. Early voting will be held on Sept 22.

A total of 1.12 million voters are eligible to vote in the election, called after caretaker chief minister Shafie Apdal announced the dissolution of the state assembly on July 30, a day after former chief minister Musa Aman claimed he had enough majority to take over the state government.
