Johor Bahru courts suspend operations for sanitisation

Chief registrar says all operations at the civil high court and subordinate courts have been suspended for two weeks.

All court operations and service counters at Menara MSC Cyberport, Johor Bahru, have been suspended for two weeks.
PUTRAJAYA:
The Johor Bahru civil high court and subordinate courts at Menara MSC Cyberport have been suspended for two weeks following confirmation of a Covid-19 case at the premises.

The chief registrar of the Federal Court said cleaning and sanitisation works would be carried out at the building and all operations at the Johor Bahru High Courts (civil), subordinate courts (civil), the court mediation centre and service counters in the building have been suspended from Nov 1 until Nov 14.

According to previously issued guidelines, trials and hearings for civil and criminal cases will be postponed and new dates for the proceedings will be set later.

It said parties involved in civil cases can apply to the court for hearings to be conducted online with their mutual agreement.
