Royal Ipoh Club struck by Covid-19

A positive case has forced the closure of the club until Monday.

The Royal Ipoh Club has confirmed that a member who attended an extraordinary general meeting on Nov 8 has tested positive for Covid-19.

Contact tracing is underway and the club has advised members who are symptomatic to get tested.

More than 100 people attended the meeting to discuss the expulsion of a member.

Checks are in progress to ascertain the identities of the people who had been in touch with the infected member.

The victim’s movements in the club are not known but he is said to have been at one of the bars after the meeting.

It is unclear if he was at the club before or after his results were known.

The club will be closed from today until Monday for sanitisation and disinfection work.
