
In a Facebook post, he said he will be returning his MP’s salary for the month of March to his team in Muar, adding that he did not deserve to keep his pay when he was furthering his studies.
“I’m not going there for a vacation but to study. I hope my studies in the field of public policy can make me a better MP and policymaker for Muar and Malaysia.
“Since the emergency, my Muar team has successfully helped 765 families obtain laptops and tablets, 5,500 families have received food bank aid, and 150 students have received Dermasiswa Harapan Muar aid.
“Throughout my time in Singapore, these efforts will be continued by my team in Muar,” he said.
Syed Sadiq said he had started the executive course in public policy last September, but will be required to attend physical classes for the whole of this month.
