2 new Covid-19 clusters, both involving workplaces

The clusters are in Johor and Kuala Lumpur.

Tracing of close contacts is proceeding in the cluster areas.
PETALING JAYA:
The health ministry has detected two new Covid-19 clusters in the past 24 hours, health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said today.

In a statement, he said both involved workplaces, and were located in Johor and Kuala Lumpur.

The two new clusters are:

Johor:

Jalan Mega Cemerlang – a workplace cluster in Johor Bahru. The index case for this cluster tested positive on March 9 through a screening of symptomatic individuals. The cluster involves family contacts of the case and employees of a food manufacturing facility on Jalan Mega 1/6, Taman Perindustrian Nusa Cemerlang, Nusajaya. A total of 54 people have been screened so far, with 19 testing positive.

Kuala Lumpur:

Jalan Pria – a workplace cluster involving the districts of Titiwangsa and Cheras. The index case tested positive on March 9 through a screening of symptomatic individuals. The cluster involves a care centre located on Jalan Pria 4, Taman Maluri, KL. A total of 37 people have been screened so far, with 10 found to be positive.
