
Ismail said among the offences were crossing districts or states without permission (12), no physical distancing (12), failure to wear a face mask (11), businesses operating beyond permitted hours (11), failure to record details at entry points (3) and gambling activity (3).
He added that police arrested 26 illegal immigrants and seized 10 vehicles and four boats under Op Benteng.
On mandatory quarantine, 800 individuals who flew into the country yesterday were quarantined, bringing the total since July 24 to 148,623. Of that, 6,584 individuals are still under quarantine, and 1,089 have been taken to hospital. The remainder were allowed to return home.
On Covid-19 checks on foreign workers, he said 3,252 swabs were carried out with 22 found to be positive.
So far, 634,082 swabs had been carried out on foreign workers with 9,935 of them testing positive for Covid-19.
Ismail also announced the end of the enhanced MCO at Kampung Serumah, Siburan in Bahagian Serian, Sarawak. He said the health ministry had carried out 462 swabs which saw 27 positive cases.
