Norhizam Hassan Baktee, who was nicknamed “Hulk Exco” after a similar showdown with some villagers in October 2018 when Pakatan Harapan was in power, said he could not allow the traders to have their way as he knew it would bring more harm than good.
The agriculture, agro-based, entrepreneur development and cooperative committee chairman got into a heated argument yesterday with the traders at the Peringgit Ramadan bazaar. A clip on this went viral on social media.
“I argued with the traders because I do not want the Ramadan bazaar to be closed by the state government, which will cause them to suffer losses,” he told Bernama.
He said he went to the Ramadan bazaar at about 6pm to check on the SOP compliance among traders.
“However, some traders at the far end of the bazaar requested to have a two-way entrance and exit system which violates the SOPs as they only allow one for entry and one for exit.”
