A source told FMT that she will clock out for the last time on Friday. Her contract ends on April 30.

It is also learnt that Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin has been informed about her decision not to renew her contract.

“She sent an email to the staff telling them about her leaving,” the source told FMT.

Zeti, BNM’s first female governor, was appointed as PNB chairman in June, 2018, replacing Abdul Wahid Omar.

PNB is the investment subsidiary of Yayasan Pelaburan Bumiputra.

In February, it was reported that Singapore police had informed BNM of suspicious transactions into the account of Iron Rhapsody Ltd, which was owned by Zeti’s husband, Tawfiq Ayman, and a son, who was not named.

The funds were said to have come from accounts linked to fugitive businessman Low Taek Jho, also known as Jho Low.

The Singapore police’s Commercial Affairs Department had shared this information with BNM in 2015 and 2016, when Zeti was governor.
