Initial investigations found that the brawl started after a group of men allegedly recorded a domestic squabble between a married couple living at the flat, said Sentul district police chief Beh Eng Lai in a statement today.
Upon realising that he was being recorded, the husband approached the men recording the video, after which the fight broke out.
The case is being investigated under Section 148 of the Penal Code for rioting with a weapon.
Beh said the suspects are all aged between 20 and 54, with 11 of them having previous criminal records.
A remand application for all 14 suspects was made today, with a one-day remand order granted for four suspects and a three-day remand order granted for the other 10.
“Kuala Lumpur police advise the public to always follow the law,” said Beh. “Stern action will be taken against anyone found to have disturbed public peace and harmony.”
Beh also urged those with information about the incident to contact the Sentul district police headquarters at 03-40482206.
