PETALING JAYA:
A 58-year-old businessman, who had been facing financial difficulties under the movement control order (MCO), was found dead at his home yesterday.

The man, who lives in Taman Putra in Ampang Jaya, was found dead at 1.45pm by his wife after she returned home from grocery shopping.

The couple have three children, only one of whom is staying in the house with them.

In a statement, Ampang Jaya police chief Mohamad Farouk Eshak said police have ruled out foul play and classified the case as sudden death.

“According to his family, the man had been depressed and had been taken to the University Malaya Medical Centre for treatment.

“Preliminary investigations indicate the man was depressed because his company had been facing financial difficulties since the start of MCO and had to stop operations.”
