PETALING JAYA:
The vaccination centre at the Tropicana Gardens Mall in Petaling Jaya has been open for walk-in vaccinations for two days now – but it remains a quiet place.

It’s been so quiet that Raja Nurfatin Amylia, a volunteer at the PPV, has taken to social media to urge those who have yet to be vaccinated to go to the mall to get their jabs under the Selangor state government’s Selvax programme.

She said this was the second day that the PPV had been quiet, adding that they were expecting to vaccinate up to 2,000 people today but only around 200 had turned up by 1pm.

Yesterday, she said they were expecting more than 4,000 people to walk in for their vaccines, but only a few had done so.

“Whoever wants to walk in to get the vaccine, please, please come. Let’s help each other out to reach herd immunity,” she said in a Twitter post today.

FMT has reached out to Selangor health executive councillor Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud for comment.

Walk-in vaccinations under Selvax are mostly open to Malaysian adults aged 18 and above who have yet to get their appointments on MySejahtera and who reside in Kuala Lumpur or Selangor.

The programme began yesterday and will go on until Aug 13. Those who want to be vaccinated under Selvax will have to download the Selangkah application.

Other Selvax PPVs that allow for walk-in jabs for Malaysians until Aug 13 are the Evo Mall, Hotel De Palma and Aurora Place vaccination centres.

The Kompleks Sukan PKNS PPV is open for walk-ins for Malaysians until Aug 9, while foreigners will be allowed to get vaccinated through the programme from Aug 10-13.
