KUALA LUMPUR:
Prime Minister-designate Ismail Sabri Yaakob spent two hours in a huddle tonight with Umno and Barisan Nasional MPs at the Royale Chulan Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, ahead of his swearing in as Malaysia’s ninth prime minister tomorrow.

Ismail was seen arriving at around 8.30pm. He left at 10.45pm.

Among those who attended the meeting were Rembau MP Khairy Jamaluddin, MCA president Wee Ka Siong, Pasir Salak MP Tajuddin Abdul Rahman, and Kota Tinggi MP Halimah Mohamed Sadique.

His appointment by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah was announced by Comptroller of the Royal Household Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin in a statement today.

The Umno vice-president is expected to be sworn in as prime minister tomorrow at 2.30pm.
