19 new Covid-19 clusters, 13 involving workplaces

The clusters were detected in Johor, Kedah, Pahang, Perak, Penang, Sarawak, Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and Kelantan.

The health ministry has detected 19 new Covid-19 clusters in the past 24 hours, health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said today.

In a statement, he said 13 of them were workplace clusters, four involved the community, one a high-risk group and one a detention centre.

The clusters were detected in Johor, Kedah, Pahang, Perak, Penang, Sarawak, Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and Kelantan.

Johor

  • Industri Sulong Utama Lapan: a workplace cluster involving factory workers in Jalan Sri Sulong Utama, Taman Sri Sulong. It involves Batu Pahat. 47 screened, 19 positive,
  • Industri Jalan Haji Kamisan: a workplace cluster involving workers of a mining company in Jalan Haji Kamisan, Chaah. It involves Segamat and Batu Pahat. 342 screened, 124 positive.
  • Tanjong Laboh Tiga Setengah: a workplace cluster involving supermarket workers in Batu 3 ½, Jalan Tanjong Laboh. It involves Batu Pahat. 66 screened, six positive.
  • Jalan Sungai Mas: a community cluster in Kota Tinggi. The index case was detected on Sept 19. 89 screened, 19 positive.

Pahang

  • Pasar Tanah Rata: a workplace cluster involving market traders in Tanah Rata. It involves Cameron Highlands. The index case was detected on Sept 15. 60 screened, 15 positive.
  • Endau Farm: a workplace cluster involving farm workers in Endau. It involves Rompin. The index case was detected on Sept 11. 46 screened, 30 positive.
  • Industri Bukit Koman: a workplace cluster involving factory workers in Bukit Koman. It involves Raub. The index case was detected on Sept 16. 200 screened, 20 positive.
  • Batu Lapan Lepar: a workplace cluster involving farmworkers in Batu 8, Lepar. It involves Pekan and Kuantan. The index case was detected on Sept 13. 211 screened, 46 positive.
  • Bukit Tajau: a community cluster in Maran and Temerloh. The index case was detected on Sept 15. 37 screened, 17 positive.

Penang

  • Jalan Trek Construction Site: a workplace cluster involving construction site workers in Jalan Trek, Kampung Sungai Tiram, Bayan Lepas. It involves Barat Daya. 120 screened, 50 positive.
  • Kampung Selamat 2: a detention centre cluster involving detainees in Kampung Selamat, Tasek Gelugor, in Seberang Perai Utara. The index case was detected on Sept 16. 50 screened, 37 positive.

Perak

  • Pangkor Laut: a workplace cluster involving staff of an accommodation centre in Pulau Pangkor, Lumut, in Manjung, The index case was detected on Sept 17. 243 screened, 59 positive.
  • Industri Rishah 14: a workplace cluster involving factory workers in Persiaran Rishah 14, Kawasan Perindustrian Silibin, Ipoh. It involves Kinta. 325 screened, 107 positive.

Selangor

  • Kampung Baru Nelayan: a community cluster in Sabak Bernam. The index case was detected on Aug 14. 46 screened, 14 positive.

Kuala Lumpur

  • Jalan Ara: a workplace cluster involving staff of a public institution in Jalan Ara, Bangsar. It involves Lembah Pantai. The index case was detected on Sept 12. 23 screened, 14 positive.

Kedah

  • Dah Asam Industri Kubang Pasu: a workplace cluster involving factory workers in Jalan Kodiang, Kampung Padang Asam, Jitra. It involves Kubang Pasu. 51 screened, 30 positive.

Kelantan

  • Kampung Siram Hulu: a community cluster in Pasir Mas. The index case was detected on Sept 5. Eight screened, all positive.

Sarawak

  • KM19 Jalan Kuching-Serian: a high-risk group cluster involving residents and staff of a care centre in Kilometre 19 off Jalan Kuching-Serian. It involves Kuching. The index case was detected on Sept 6. 94 screened, 18 positive.
  • Jalan Taman Raja: a workplace cluster involving restaurant workers in Jalan Taman Raja 1A. It involves Miri and Subis. The index case was detected on Sept 10. 151 screened, 24 positive.
