5 new Covid-19 clusters, 3 linked to the workplace

They were detected in Kuala Lumpur, Pahang, and Selangor.

PETALING JAYA:
The health ministry has detected five new Covid-19 clusters, director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said today.

In a statement, Noor Hisham said three of them were workplace clusters, while one each were community and education institution clusters.

They were detected in Kuala Lumpur, Pahang, and Selangor.

Five clusters were also detected yesterday with three linked to the workplace.

Pahang

  • Triang Bera: a workplace cluster linked to a public institution in Bandar Triang. It involves Bera. The index case was detected on Oct 30. 117 screened, 35 positive.
  • Chengal Lempong: an education cluster linked to students and staff of a learning centre in Balok. It involves Kuantan. The index case was detected on Oct 29. 36 screened, 12 positive.
  • Permatang Shahbandar: a community cluster in Bandar Jengka. It involves Maran. The index case was detected on Oct 28. 33 screened, 13 positive.

Kuala Lumpur

  • Jalan Tuanku Dua: a workplace cluster linked to a factory in Taman Salak Selatan. It involves Lembah Pantai. The index case was detected on Nov 2. 38 screened, six positive.

Selangor

  • Industri Jalan KPB Sembilan: a workplace cluster linked to a factory in Kawasan Perindustrian Kampung Baru Balakong. It involves Hulu Langat. 31 screened, 16 positive.

EMCO in Raub area

Separately, the National Security Council (MKN) said an enhanced movement control order (EMCO) lockdown will be imposed from Nov 3 to 16 at Kampung Orang Asli Satak, Mukim Batu Talam, Raub in Pahang.
