Man killed, another injured after falling from Ferris wheel

Kajang police say no criminal element was found in the incident.

PETALING JAYA:
A man died after falling off a Ferris wheel at a funfair in Kajang while another was injured.

In a statement, Kajang district police said they were notified of the incident near Aeon Jusco Cheras Selatan at 12.05am this morning.

The call was placed by a funfair worker who told police that two men had fallen from a Ferris wheel.

“(One victim) was confirmed dead at the scene by ambulance workers from Kajang Hospital. Another was taken to hospital for treatment,” police said.

“Police are still investigating to ascertain the cause of the incident and whether there was negligence on the part of the funfair owner or the victims. So far, the investigation has found no criminal element in the case.”

The dead man’s body has been sent to Hospital Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia where an autopsy will be done. The case has been classified as sudden death.
