6,380 Covid-19 cases, 9 clusters

Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah says the total number of Covid-19 cases now is 2,569,533 cases.

PETALING JAYA:
The health ministry has reported 6,380 Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours, up from the 6,288 cases yesterday.

Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the total number of infections now stands at 2,569,533 cases.

He said 5,760 patients had recovered, while 541 patients remain in intensive care, 452 of whom are confirmed Covid-19 positive and 89 suspected of being infected.

A total of 263 patients needed respiratory assistance, with 169 Covid-19 positive and the remaining 94 suspected of being positive.

There were 6,352 local infections today, involving 6,089 Malaysians and 263 foreigners, and 28 imported cases.

Of these, only 1.5% of patients were in Category 3, 4 or 5 at the time of diagnosis.

Noor Hisham also said there were nine clusters reported today.
