The father, aged 61, who did not want to be named, said he was still reeling from shock over the gruesome murder, Berita Harian reported.
“I have forgiven my son. No matter what, he is still my flesh and blood and I hope he repents,” the Malay daily quoted him as saying.
The father said he was selling prawns in Kampung Bukit Belimbing, near Kuala Selangor, when he was informed of the tragedy. He rushed home to find a crowd outside his house. “But I couldn’t get in,” he said.
Earlier today, Selangor police chief Arjunaidi Mohamed said a 28-year-old suspect was nabbed on Saturday evening and is being remanded until Jan 22 for a murder investigation.
Arjunaidi said the man had wanted to ask the victim for money to buy drugs.
