“Muda’s commitment is that we will not contest in seats held by (Pakatan Harapan) incumbents, like DAP, Amanah and PKR, because we want to focus on seats won by Barisan Nasional and Bersatu,” he told reporters at a press conference.
The announcement came after seat negotiations between Muda and PKR broke down last week.
Muda co-founder and central executive committee member Lim Wei Jiet, a lawyer, was named the party’s candidate for the Tenang seat.
Nurafiqah M Zulkifli will contest the Bukit Kepong seat, and Azrol Rahani the Bukit Permai seat.
Nurafiqah is another party co-founder and central executive committee member, while Azrol is the party’s Johor chief.
All three candidates will be contesting using the party’s logo.
The Bukit Permai seat was offered by DAP, and the other two seats by Amanah.
On Feb 14, the party announced that its secretary-general, Amira Aisya Abd Aziz, would contest in the Puteri Wangsa seat.
It has yet to announce its candidates for two other seats offered to it – Parit Raja and Machap.
Johor goes to the polls on March 12. Nominations will be held on Feb 26 and early polling on March 8.
