
Of this, 1,119 cases were in Category 1 and 2 while 645 were in Category 3, 4 and 5.
Selangor had the highest number of new admissions with 267, followed by Johor (215) and Perak (189).
A total of 1,362 patients were discharged yesterday.
In a statement, health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said Covid-19 intensive care units (ICUs) were at 39% of their total capacity of 840 beds.
ICU beds in five regions have exceeded 50% capacity, namely Kelantan (86%), Johor (59%), Labuan (57%), Kuala Lumpur (54%) and Sabah (52%).
A total of 201 patients required respiratory assistance, with ventilator usage at 36% of their maximum capacity.
The use of normal Covid-19 beds has exceeded 50% capacity in Kelantan (111%), Selangor (108%), Perak (93%), Kuala Lumpur (89%), Putrajaya (86%), Perlis (82%), Johor (73%), Pahang (68%), Terengganu (58%), Penang (57%), Sabah (69%), and Sarawak (53%).
In terms of public hospitals’ total capacity (Covid-19 and non-Covid-19 patients), 67% of non-critical beds and 39% of ICUs were in use.
Sixteen new clusters were reported yesterday.
