Couple nabbed over 4-month-old found dead in Klang dumpster

The case is being probed under Section 318 of the Penal Code for concealment of birth by secret disposal of the child’s body.

Police said the baby had died within 24 hours of the discovery of the body.
PETALING JAYA:
A four-month-old baby was found dead in the dumpster of a condominium block in Bandar Baru Klang yesterday evening.

Klang Utara district police chief Vijaya Rao Samachulu said preliminary checks by personnel from Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah found that the baby had died within 24 hours earlier.

In a statement, Vijaya said police arrested a foreign woman, believed to be the main suspect, and a local male who was her boyfriend.

The duo, who were in their 30s and 40s, were arrested near where the baby was found.

The case is being investigated under Section 318 of the Penal Code for concealment of birth by secret disposal of the child’s body. Both suspects will be brought to court to be remanded.
