
PETALING JAYA: Police have nabbed a 40-year-old man over a rape case 12 years ago, after using DNA data to identify him.
The suspect was arrested at a goat farm to assist in the investigation of the rape of a 15-year-old girl which happened 12 years ago at a workshop in Sungai Pinang, Balik Pulau, Penang.
“The suspect was successfully identified with the use of DNA data,” said Abdul Jalil Hassan, director of federal CID at Bukit Aman.
The suspect is being held on remand at the Balik Pulau district police headquarters for six days.
