Its minister Hishammuddin Hussein said withdrawal may be made on conditions that the servicemen have received their confirmation letter from Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) to perform the haj, and have been contributing to LTAT for at least 15 years.
In addition, he said, LTAT contributors pursuing higher education may withdraw up to RM3,200 to repay fees for their first semester from tomorrow.
In a statement, Hishammuddin also said the schedule-based Bayaran Persinggahan Pelabuhan Luar Negara for crew members from the navy will be increased from RM20 a day to RM50.
On housing for servicemen, he announced that out of the seven Rumah Keluarga Malaysia Angkatan Tentera (RKMAT) projects announced in January last year, involving 1,091 units, three have been completed.
They comprise 305 units at Kem Segamat, 204 units at Kem Pakit and 20 housing units at Kem Oran. The ministry is focusing on completing the remaining four RKMAT projects this year.
“Mindef also has a bigger plan, which is to build 12,000 RKMAT units during the period of the 12th and 13th Malaysia Plans under the Housing Blueprint 3.0,” he said.
