
His lawyer, Rafique Rashid Ali, said the application was filed last week on the grounds that the charge was without merit or basis.
An application was also filed to transfer the case from the sessions court to the High Court.
Last month, the sessions court had dismissed Rozman’s application to strike out the charge, after finding that the court has no jurisdiction to do so without a trial being conducted.
Rozman, 57, was accused of using his position as deputy chairman of the Labuan Port Authority to solicit bribes to secure a contract for Syarikat Labuan Liberty Port Management Sdn Bhd, in which his father and younger brother have an interest.
The offence was allegedly committed at the transport ministry’s office in Putrajaya, in March 2018.
