
They can submit their input and memorandums via the official portal https://budgetmemorandum.treasury.gov.my, from today until 5pm on June 24.
In a statement, finance minister Tengku Zafrul Aziz said the pre-budget statement would highlight the transition towards longer-term reforms, and formulate people-centric initiatives, particularly those that generate jobs, raise incomes, strengthen social protection and enhance the rakyat’s socioeconomic well-being.
He said the budget would also focus on creating a conducive business environment, especially on enhancing the competitiveness and productivity of small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), boosting the recovery of tourism and other pandemic-impacted sectors, leveraging on Malaysia’s leadership in Islamic finance as well as catalysing new growth areas, including moving industries up the value chain.
The ministry also invited feedback on the 2023 budget measures via https://budget.mof.gov.my/en/survey/rakyat/ and https://budget.mof.gov.my/en/survey/business/.
