“I am unaware about the matters raised in the court of late. If they want to call me in for a probe, I will cooperate with the authorities, as per usual,” he said in a tweet.
Hishammuddin was responding to a report that the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) would be probing those named in a ledger kept by a former UKSB manager.
A key witness in Zahid’s corruption trial had testified that apart from the former deputy prime minister, other politicians had also received funds from UKSB.
The UKSB ledger presented in court mentioned Hishammuddin, former foreign minister Anifah Aman, former Sabah chief minister Shafie Apdal, and housing and local government minister Reezal Merican Naina Merican.
A former director from UKSB, Wan Quoris Shah Wan Abdul Ghani, had also told the Shah Alam High Court that contributions of between RM50,000 and RM200,000 were made to Khairy Jamaluddin’s Umno Rembau division, but not given directly or personally to Khairy.
Muhyiddin, Khairy, Anifah and Reezal have since denied receiving any funds from UKSB.
