KUANTAN: Three Orang Asli men, who were charged with murdering a 14-year-old Orang Asli girl at the Pekan magistrates’ court yesterday, were charged with raping the girl at the sessions court here today.
Rosli Bakar, 29, Helmat, 22, and Murad Ahmad, 26, pleaded not guilty to the rape charge before judge Shahrul Rizal Majid.
They were jointly charged with raping the girl in a forest area at Bukit Ibam in Muadzam Shah, Rompin, between 11.15am on Aug 20 and 7am the following day.
The charge, framed under Section 375B of the Penal Code, provides for a jail sentence of between 10 and 30 years, upon conviction.
No bail was given as they also face the murder charge.
The court set Sept 29 for mention.
Yesterday, the Pekan magistrate’s court set Nov 3 for mention of the murder case.
