PKR Youth deputy chief Kamil Munim questioned what the government intended to do next, following the detention of 45 people by MACC since July.
“What else is MACC waiting for?” Kamil said.
He said any delay in bringing the culprits to justice would leave a bad impression on the government and the prime minister’s commitment to fight corruption and abuse of power.
Kamil also questioned whether “high-ranking individuals” were involved. He said MIC deputy president M Saravanan, who is the human resources minister, had himself not ruled out the possibility that an MIC leader was involved.
MACC has arrested 45 people so far after detaining 37 people in 11 states on July 14, on suspicion of making false claims and misappropriating funds from PenjanaKerjaya.
The suspects – 26 men and 11 women, aged between 28 and 70 – comprised business owners, directors, managers, shareholders, engineers and executives.
