
“When we were choosing the candidates (for Selangor), I saw that Khairy Jamaluddin, Megat Zulkarnain and many others could help us wrest Selangor,” he said, in an Utusan Malaysia report.
“But as I arranged the candidates for the seats, it turned out that my seat was stolen.
“It’s all right. What has happened has happened. I will still remain with BN.”
Noh, who had served as Tanjong Karang MP for six terms, was among the big names dropped from the list of BN candidates for the general election.
The Selangor Umno chief was replaced by Habibah Yusof, the Tanjong Karang Wanita Umno chief.
Noh said that based on his observations in the last few days of campaigning, voters – especially the young ones – assessed candidates on credibility and ability without considering their party affiliation.
“Voters today look at the candidate, not the party,” he said. “They evaluate the services that have been offered.”
