Cuepacs president Adnan Mat said issues they had been fighting for, including a standardised minimum wage of RM1,800, had not been included in any manifesto.
“We do not believe they (manifesto promises) are enough because, for the longest time we have said we want a minimum wage of RM1,800. We want a comfortable income,” he told FMT.
Nevertheless, he said Cuepacs appreciated that all parties had shown their concern for the welfare of civil servants.
“We take note of all the manifestos announced, whether they can be implemented or not is secondary, but the announcements related to the civil service are welcome.
“We do not see this as goodies to win votes. We are confident all parties are concerned with the welfare of public servants.”
In Barisan Nasional’s manifesto, the coalition promises paid leave for civil servants on their birthdays. It also commits to equal salaries and benefits regardless of gender.
Perikatan Nasional, meanwhile, says it will raise the cost of living allowance by RM100.
