Hulu Selangor district police chief Suffian Abdullah said the three people from the Father’s Organic Farm were called in to the Hulu Selangor district police headquarters (IPD) yesterday afternoon to assist in the investigation.

“One of them is the operator of Father’s Organic Farm, a man in his 50s, while the other two are his workers, both in their 30s,” he said at a press conference here.

The Batang Kali landslide, which occurred at three campsites at 2am on Friday, has so far claimed 24 lives. A total of 61 people survived the landslide.

Search and rescue operations continue for nine people who are still unaccounted for.

On Friday, local government development minister Nga Kor Ming said the three campsites were not licenced.

The campsite operators face a jail term of up to three years and/or a RM50,000 fine, if convicted.

Nga confirmed that the operators were permitted to run the organic farm but had not put in an application to set up campsites.

Meanwhile, Suffian did not rule out the possibility that more people would be called in to provide statements to assist in the investigation.
