She succumbed to liver cancer after being diagnosed with it last year.

Hasanah Ab Hamid was acquitted by the High Court last year for misappropriating RM50 million in government funds.
PETALING JAYA:
Former spy chief Hasanah Ab Hamid has died. She was 66.

Her son-in-law, Khairil Qaiyum Aisha, confirmed with FMT that Hasanah died at noon after suffering from liver cancer.

“She had been diagnosed with liver cancer in September last year,” he said.

Hasanah will be laid to rest at the Kajang Muslim cemetery.

One month prior to the diagnosis, the High Court in Kuala Lumpur had acquitted her over a criminal breach of trust (CBT) charge involving RM50.4 million of the government’s money.
