Fahmi denies officer under MACC probe

Last night, Edisi Siasat claimed that two ministers, Fahmi Fadzil and Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, had sacked their officers over a corruption investigation.

Communications and digital minister Fahmi Fadzil said none of his officers had been summoned by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission.
PETALING JAYA:
Communications and digital minister Fahmi Fadzil has denied that one of his officers is under investigation by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

“When I heard about the allegation, I checked with my officers.

“As of now, all of my officers are accounted for. I did not sack any of them. Also, no one has reported that they were summoned by the MACC,” Fahmi said.

The minister also added that his office will be lodging a police report on the matter.

Last night, whistle-blower portal Edisi Siasat posted a report in which it accused Fahmi and natural resources, environment and climate change minister Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad of having sacked their respective officers over an alleged anti-corruption probe.

The report claimed that there were officers from both ministries who had been called in by MACC to assist in a corruption investigation.

“You had no fear when you collected bribes through these officers, and now you’re shaking,” the report said.
