Terengganu police spokesman Noor Halim Nordin said the report was made at the Chukai police station in Kemaman last night.
“According to the report, the complainant came across a message stating, ‘UMDAP is attempting to spark a riot similar to what happened on May 13’,” Halim was quoted as saying by Sinar Harian.
He added that the complainant saw the message on Facebook.
The case is being investigated under Section 505(b) of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.
Meanwhile, Halim said 55 ceramah applications were approved last Saturday, including 36 from Perikatan Nasional, 18 from Barisan Nasional and one from Pakatan Harapan.
Stating that police are committed to safeguarding national security and public order, he called on all parties to cooperate by adhering to the rules during the campaign period.
Terengganu is among the six states which will head to the polls on Saturday.
