PETALING JAYA:
Police brought the mother of deceased autistic child Zayn Rayyan Abdul Matiin back to the family residence at Apartment Idaman in Damansara Damai today to assist in the investigation into her son’s murder.

According to Berita Harian, the cops are believed to be conducting a re-enactment of the situation from the time of Zayn’s disappearance until his body was found on Dec 6, with the help of the boy’s mother.

The woman was brought to the location in an unmarked police van at about 10.15am today. Policemen were also seen carrying a mannequin of a child.

It was not immediately known why Zayn’s father was not brought there as well.

It is understood that the woman will be brought to where Zayn’s body was found, near a stream about 200m from his apartment block.

On Friday, the remand order for Zayn’s parents was extended by six days after police found discrepancies between their statements and those given by witnesses.

Zayn, six, was reported missing on Dec 5 last year in Damansara Damai. He was found dead the next day.

The post-mortem revealed multiple injuries, including defensive wounds, while the cause of death was believed to be strangulation.
