Dhabitah through to women’s 3m springboard finals at Olympics

The Malaysian finishes eighth among the top 12 qualifiers at the Paris Aquatics Centre.

Malaysian diver Nur Dhabitah Sabri has booked a spot in the women’s individual 3m springboard finals at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games today.

The 25-year-old started strong in the first dive, finishing with 67.50 points at the Paris Aquatics Centre in Saint-Denis. However, her performance dipped in the second and third dives, scoring 55.50 and 46.50 points respectively.

Dhabitah made a comeback in her fourth and fifth dives, eventually finishing in 8th place with a total of 286.95 points.

Only the top 12 divers qualify for the finals scheduled for tomorrow.

The Paris Olympics marks Dhabitah’s third Olympic appearance, following her participation in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics.

China’s Chen Yiwen topped the standings with 360.85 points, followed by Australia’s Maddison Keeney in second place with 334.70 points, and Italy’s Chiara Pellacani in third with 324.75 points.
