Yadzil, who is vying for a spot on the party’s Supreme Council in next month’s Bersatu polls, also said there were attempts to sabotage his political career.
Prior to the division’s suspension, he had been looking forward to defending his post as the Jasin Bersatu chief against Jeehan Adam, the Jasin Wanita Bersatu chief.
However, Yadzil says he is unfazed by such attacks.
“Maybe this is one way to weaken me (by getting the division suspended). But, they (the rivals) have miscalculated.
“I’m not worried. In fact, I am even more confident that my fellow party colleagues are with me,” he told FMT.
Yadzil, who is also Melaka Perikatan Nasional chairman and Bemban assemblyman, downplayed the suspension of his division, labelling it as a “norm” in managing the party to ensure the elections proceeded without a hitch.
Yesterday, FMT reported that the party’s Jasin division was suspended after it allegedly failed to hold meetings.
Bersatu secretary-general Hamzah Zainudin, in confirming the matter, said the division will now be managed and administered by the Supreme Council.
Sources told FMT that the suspension came after it was discovered that there were branches that had failed to hold meetings despite claiming otherwise.
