
In a statement, the commission said the appointment, made by deputy prime minister and energy transition and water transformation minister Fadillah Yusof, had been approved by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
“This was confirmed through an official notification issued by the energy transition and water transformation ministry today,” it said.
Siti Safinah holds a bachelor’s degree in information technology (software systems) from Multimedia University, a master’s in business administration (strategic management) from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, and a master’s in public administration from Harvard University.
Since February 2021, she had served as CEO of MyPOWER Corporation, a special-purpose agency under the energy transition and water transformation ministry to coordinate the implementation of power supply industry reform initiatives in Malaysia.
The commission said Siti Safinah had also served in the governance, risk and compliance division of strategic investment fund Khazanah Nasional, and was a board member of VCAP Asset Managers.
“Earlier in her career, she worked at Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation and Telekom Malaysia Group,” it added.
