An explosion at a petrol station near the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) today was due to a car battery, said Kuala Lumpur police chief Rusdi Isa.

Rusdi said that they received information about an explosion involving a Proton Saga at the location.

“An inspection showed that it was a car battery that exploded,” he said in a statement, according to Bernama.

Earlier, a video went viral on social media claiming that an explosion had occurred at the site and that an arrest had been made by a police team.
