PETALING JAYA:
A woman detained for breaching security and rushing onto the main stage during the Perak state-level National Day celebration will be sent to Hospital Bahagia Ulu Kinta in Tanjung Rambutan for observation.

Perak police chief Noor Hisam Nordin said the 41-year-old suspect’s remand order expired today and police had referred her to Hospital Bahagia, Utusan Malaysia reported.

He said police were still waiting for the Attorney-General’s Chambers instructions on whether to proceed with charges against her.

Police arrested the woman on Aug 31 after she entered from the side of the stage and dashed towards Sultan Nazrin Shah.

A preliminary check revealed that she has a police record related to drug cases, and further examination confirmed that she has a history of receiving psychiatric treatment.

Noor Hisam had said the suspect was under specialist supervision.
