Sabah floods worsen, evacuees double to nearly 4,500

Some 1,505 households have been displaced from their homes and relocated to 22 relief centres in the Bornean state.

PETALING JAYA:
The number of flood evacuees in Sabah has nearly doubled from 2,288 this morning to 4,458 as of 4.45pm this evening, according to figures from the national disaster command centre.

A total of 1,505 households have been displaced from their homes and relocated to 22 relief centres as the floods in Sabah worsened through the day.

Tenom was the worst-hit district with 2,406 flood victims, followed by Beaufort (1,231), Sipitang (421), Membakut (321) and Keningau (79).
