CIMB Group Holdings Bhd has dismissed claims circulating online about a data breach, saying they are false and that customer data continues to be protected.

In a post on X, the financial services provider said its security teams had verified that all systems were secure.

Earlier, allegations surfaced of a high-risk cybersecurity incident targeting Malaysia’s financial sector, with claims that CIMB Bank customers were affected.

The purported leaked dataset was said to contain 1.2 million unique records, including personal identification details, full names, and financial information.
