
Klang Utara police chief S Vijaya Rao said the incident was believed to have occurred at about 1am while the victim was on duty at a security post in the housing area, Bernama reported.
He said a dispute broke out between the local suspect, in his 40s, who was drinking with his friends, and the victim.
“The victim, 40, sustained injuries when he was hit with a blunt object. He was rushed to Shah Alam Hospital but was pronounced dead at 4.18am.”
Rao said a police team tracked down and arrested the suspect. They also seized a car steering lock believed to have been used in the attack.
He said the suspect has 10 prior criminal records, including two for drug-related offences.
