
Its director, Shahril Nizam Shahidin, said authorities arrested a man in his 30s for allegedly pumping more than the permitted diesel limit.
He said the arrest and seizure were the result of monitoring and continuous intelligence gathering on suspicious activity at several petrol stations around Kota Kinabalu.
“The suspect was using a four-wheel-drive vehicle and found acting suspiciously at a petrol pump.
“Further inspection found that the suspect was filling diesel into an additional tank beyond the permitted limit,” Bernama reported him as saying today.
Among the items seized were the vehicle, a 1,000-litre tank containing 250 litres of diesel., an electric pump and rubber hoses.
Shahril said the suspect and the petrol station operator will be investigated under the Control of Supplies Act 1961.
