SHAH ALAM:
The police are investigating social media posts containing allegedly defamatory statements against the Selangor Islamic religious council and the Selangor Islamic religious department.

Selangor police chief Shazeli Kahar said a report was received on April 16, which alleged that the content was created to tarnish the image of the council and the department. “The complainant alleged that the content of the video is defamatory as it makes accusations of corruption and the use of royal immunity,” he said in a statement today.

Religious council secretary Sabirin Sarbini had previously said that a TikTok video had made allegations about payment arrears and mismanagement of a mosque project in Subang.
