Taiping police chief Abd Malek Ismail said they received a report concerning the video, which was recorded by one of the bus passengers.
“The exact location of the incident has yet to be identified. However, the Threads user indicated that it may have occurred in the area after the Menora tunnel,” Bernama reported him as saying today.
Malek said police are also tracing the bus company involved as well as the actual route taken by the bus, adding that the case could be investigated under Section 42 of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless and dangerous driving.
He urged the public, including the Threads user who uploaded the video, to assist in the investigation.
The video on Threads showed an express bus driver attempting to pour the liquid – speculated by users in the comments to be ketum water – from a plastic packet into a bottle while driving.
