
JOHOR BAHRU: The JDT All-Stars Friendly match held at Tan Sri Dato’ Haji Hassan Yunos Stadium in Larkin yesterday succeeded in raising RM680,000 which is to be donated to several charitable organisations.
The match, which featured several former world class players, ended with JDT TMJ defeating JDT Rest of the World, 9-5.
A total of RM600,000 of the fund was raised through the sale of 17,000 tickets, while the remaining RM80,000 were contributed by Johor Darul Takzim players and club management.
Among the organisations to receive the donations were Tunku Laksamana Johor Cancer Foundation and the National Cancer Society of Malaysia.
The game also witnessed the Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar presenting a personal donation of RM200,000 to the Red Crescent Society.
Florent Malouda scored a hattrick for JDT TMJ in the 6th, 11th and 66th minutes, while six other goals were netted by Robert Pires (13th and 44th), Marco Materazzi (3rd), Tunku Mahkota of Johor Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim (23rd), David Trezequet (50th) and Diogo Santo (89th).
For JDT Rest of The World, two goals were contributed by Rivaldo (43rd and 46th) and one each by Louis Saha (21st minute penalty), Edgar David (58th) and Claudio Caniaggia (59th).
Apart from the football players, rapper Joe Flizzow also played for JDT Rest of The World.
